The Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance is a collaboration between humanitarian, NGO, research and private sector partners. Our vision is a world where communities are resilient to climate hazards, enabling them to thrive.
Formerly the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance, we have over a decade of experience in generating evidence of communities' current levels of climate resilience and identifying appropriate solutions. As of 2024, our work has beneficially impacted the lives of over 3 million people and influenced an increase in resilience spending of more than 1.25 billion USD.
Drawing on this experience, the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance aims to beneficially impact the lives of 5.5 million people by 2027, and 70 million people by 2035 . We will deliver this substantial increase in ambition through an intentional focus on scalable activities and systems change, coupled with innovative ways to assess the uptake and scaling of those activities by other stakeholders.
The Alliance is powered by the Z Zurich Foundation. Members of the Alliance are:
- Concern Worldwide
- International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
- International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA)
- ISET International
- London School of Economics and Political Science
- Mercy Corps
- Plan International
- Practical Action
- Zurich Insurance
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
