International dimensions of climate change, final project report
This report identifies for the first time how international climate change is likely to affect the United Kingdom through its global dependencies and networks. It concludes that the impacts of climate change overseas could be as important as the direct impacts within UK shores over the next few decades. It describes a range of important implications for the UK, both threats and opportunities. The report aims to encourage UK policymakers to consider the international impacts of climate change alongside domestic impacts. It is timed to feed into the UK's first Climate Change Risk Assessment, as well as other government initiatives currently underway.
