Mission

Newshub is a New Zealand news service that airs on television channel Three and radio stations run by MediaWorks. The Newshub brand replaced 3 News on the TV3 network and the Radio Live news service heard on MediaWorks Radio stations on 1 February 2016.

The organization has no registered commitments.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.

Tsunami could strike New Zealand before public officially alerted

Last weekend, Auckland tested its tsunami sirens as part of its disaster management preparations, blaring a series of tones across the Rodney and Waitakere ward areas. But if a local tsunami struck, it could hit so quickly there wouldn't be time to activate these emergency measures, according to GNS Science senior tsunami scientist Dr William Power.
