GP2022 Ignite Stage: U-INSPIRE Indonesia: Action-based stories from Indonesian youth and young professionals in building resilience
On 27 May 2022, U-INSPIRE Indonesia presented its “Action-based stories from Indonesian youth and young professionals in building resilience” at the Ignite Stage during GP2022.
U-INSPIRE Indonesia is a platform to empower youth, young scientists and young professionals in fields of science, engineering, technology and innovation to support disaster risk reduction in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
The presentation discusses the commitments, targets and objectives of U-INSPIRE Indonesia, while also sharing their flagship activities and partnerships with international organizations and government agencies such as UNESCO, UNDP, BRIN and BNPB. Currently, U-INSPIRE Indonesia has over 300 members across 24 provinces in Indonesia promoting collaboration not only among the youth but also among other organizations and relevant stakeholders.
U-INSPIRE Indonesia has published one voluntary commitment in the SFVC platform.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful tool to know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables. Good practices and achievements will be highlighted through the online platform.
