Registration numbers to the Third Session of the Global Platform and the World Reconstruction Conference continue to increase, with over 2000 participants registered. The Global Platform is promising to be the most compelling and comprehensive event for disaster risk reduction.
Preparations are now on final touches to the programme of events (available online) and confirming the speakers. An important component of the Third Session will be the Informal Plenary on 11 and 12 May which provides the opportunity for all stakeholders to discuss issues emerging from the Mid-Term Review of the Hyogo Framework for Action. Delegations are encouraged to participate and to reflect on the implementation of the Mid-Term Review findings.
We kindly ask all participants who intend to register to do so as soon as possible. Please note that all members of all delegations, including Permanent Missions, need to register online. In order to ensure enough time for the processing of visa requests, we also urge participants to apply as soon as possible. Delegations are also kindly asked to book a time slot and submit their plenary statement immediately.
