This Discussion Paper along with other key documents and processes provide the background material to stimulate debate and determine outcomes for the Third Session of the Global Platform.

The Discussion Paper invites all stakeholders to reflect on this year's theme, "Invest Today for a Safer Tomorrow-Increased Investment in Local Action," to consider its different components and to offer suggestions for actions and outcomes.

We welcome comments and suggestions based on the Discussion Paper and other documentation in the lead up to the Third Session. Your input will assist speakers and participants in the preparations they are making in advance of the Third Session and help to focus outcomes from the discussions. National governments can communicate their views directly with their Permanent Missions in Geneva.
