UCLG ASPAC has been hosting the Secretariat of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) for Southeast Asia (SEA) since 2018. The task of the secretariat is to: (i) Support the Development of Climate Action Plans (CAPs); (ii) Build the capacity of GCoM Signatories; and (iii) Become the helpdesk.

UCLG ASPAC received a request from its member, Bontang City to support the city’s disaster risk reduction and urban resilience efforts. In collaboration with the UNDRR, BNPB, and MoHA of Indonesia, UCLG ASPAC organised a training on DRR and Urban Resilience in Bontang on April 29-30, 2024.
