UCLG ASPAC has been hosting the Secretariat of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) for Southeast Asia (SEA) since 2018. The task of the secretariat is to: (i) Support the Development of Climate Action Plans (CAPs); (ii) Build the capacity of GCoM Signatories; and (iii) Become the helpdesk.

The rollout of UCLG Resilience Module to support LGs in Asia Pacific

UCLG ASPAC received a request from its member, Bontang City to support the city’s disaster risk reduction and urban resilience efforts. In collaboration with the UNDRR, BNPB, and MoHA of Indonesia, UCLG ASPAC organised a training on DRR and Urban Resilience in Bontang on April 29-30, 2024.

Get Ready Queensland is a year-round, resilience building initiative that delivers an ongoing disaster preparedness awareness campaign and provides $2 million in funding to Queensland’s 77 Local Governments and one Town Authority (Weipa) to support community preparedness for disasters.

To sustain the National Consortium for Societal Resilience (UK+) to enhance the UK+ approach to societal resilience, so that individuals, community groups, businesses, and organisations can all play a meaningful part in building the resilience of our society

Local to Global Protection (L2GP) works for meaningful change in the humanitarian system by supporting, documenting and promoting local perspectives and responses to major humanitarian crises.

The Programme on Climate Change, Resilience and Informality supports communities - in partnership with local governments - to build resilient cities that reduce risk and vulnerability by strengthening urban ecosystems, promoting investment in resilience, and advocating for people-centred resilience.

Our project takes a systems approach to Recovery and Renewal from COVID-19 to build Resilience.

We are a working group under the International Organization for Standardization’s ISO TC 268 SC1 Smart Community Infrastructure. Our working group focuses on the standardization of smart community infrastructure which could strengthen community resiliency against potential disasters.
